Yeast infections are believed to be one amongst the common kinds of infections that affects women. In general, it is observed that yeast infections take place when there is an overgrowth if candida Albicans (a fungus) in the vagina.

Ensure treating the yeast infection adequately for preventing chronic or ongoing infection. Vaginal discharge is one of the common symptoms associated with yeast infection. Vaginal discharge yeast infection:

•    is opaque or white in color
•    has a clumpy surface (most women say that it is somewhat similar to cottage cheese)
•    smells like yeast or bread

You can prevent this by practicing these steps:

•    avoid using vaginal douches
•    avoid using oils or petroleum jellies for vaginal lubrication
•    if you are undergoing a treatment to cure vaginal yeast infection, avoid having a sexual intercourse till you have recovered completely

•    don’t have vaginal contact with products that may irritate vagina such as deodorant or perfumed soaps, feminine hygiene products, lotions, bubble baths and powders

•    Prefer wearing cotton panties because cotton helps your genital area to breather, thereby allowing your vaginal area to stay dry. Moreover, if needed, don’t wear panties when you are sleeping

•    Prefer using condoms while having a sexual intercourse
•    Prefer wiping your vagina after urinating because inadequate wiping may lead to bacterial growth, thereby causing vaginal discharge as well as infection

Try implementing these tips to improve vaginal health and keep it safe from infections.
